Ecolabels and Sustainable Public Procurement

Published On: 11-Jun-2016

The latest newsletter from the 10 Year Framework of Programmes (10YFP) of UNEP contains updates on the global review of Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP). A report on progress of the review has been co-authored by GEN member KEITI (South Korea). The UN General Assembly last year (2015) included SPP in its 2030 Agenda and there is a link to that in the newsletter. For GEN members looking for an SPP briefing in Arabic, there is also a link to a Lebanese government document on the subject.

UNEP continues assisting 16 countries on Sustainable Public Procurement and Ecolabelling through the EC-funded “SPP and Eco-labelling” (SPPEL) and “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood” (EaP-GREEN) projects. You can consult the outputs of the project countries here.

The UNEP SPP Implementation Guidelines are available here.
