The Standards Institution of Israel activity focuses on three primary areas: standardisation, testing and quality assurance. Integration of these areas under one roof creates a synergetic system with feedback, facilitating the concentration of professional talent, operational efficiency, and economy of resources.

Standardization

Israeli standardisation is the professional and quality basis for all sectors of the economy, helping maintain safety, health, and the environment.

Testing

Our laboratories perform all types of testing on materials and products.

Quality Assurance

SII has been granted the most extensive authority in the State of Israel for all matters related to authorisation and certification of products and processes for standard marks, quality marks, test certificates and others.

Green Label

The Standards Institution of Israel initiated the Israeli Green Label in 1994. Since then, it has been the only official environmental label in Israel.

The Green Label Directorate operates following international standards ISO 14020 and ISO 14024. Over the years, hundreds of licenses have been granted to products and services.

We operate in three main areas:

  • Products that are environmentally friendlier than their competitors.
  • Service Oriented organizations that operate in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Green buildings that are constructed according to the requirements of the Israeli Standards for Green Buildings.

We recently launched a new product: EPD verification – Environmental Product Declaration, which follows ISO 14025.

In addition, we have over 30 Green Specifications from different fields, and all of them refer to the entire lifecycle of the product, from the mining of raw materials to packaging and handling the product at the end of its use.
